About the role#
As a student intern, you will work under the direction of a licensed engineer and project leadership as part of our multi-disciplinary team. You will contribute to projects spanning education, health, science and technology, commercial, and sports and wellness markets. This position has the potential to evolve into a full-time entry-level role based on business needs.
What you'll do#
- Perform structural analysis and design for new and existing systems.
- Prepare documents and reports from concept design through technical documentation.
- Assist in the review and markup of shop drawing submittals.
- Recommend ways to improve process, quality, and coordination.
- Visit job sites to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress, which requires physical walk-throughs.
- Handle other duties as required.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor program for Civil Engineering (Structural focus), Structural Engineering, or Architectural Engineering (Structural emphasis).
- Completed coursework in building systems engineering.
- Experience or coursework in concrete and steel design.
- Experience with masonry and wood design is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with engineering design software such as Revit or RAM is preferred.

- Compensation: $22.25 to $26.25 per hour.
- Status: Paid, full-time internship.
