About the role#
As a student intern, you will join our multi-disciplinary team. You will work under the supervision of a licensed engineer or a Certified Plumbing Designer. You will contribute to projects including new construction and renovations across healthcare, educational, commercial, and science and technology markets. This position has the potential to evolve into a full-time entry-level role based on business needs.
What you'll do#
- Perform uncomplicated designs for plumbing and fire protection systems.
- Assist with designs for HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, controls, and equipment selection.
- Use Revit and BIM software to model construction drawings from the schematic design phase through construction administration.
- Review and markup shop drawing submittals.
- Suggest improvements for quality, process, and coordination.
- Visit job sites to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress, which requires physical site walk-throughs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Engineering.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with engineering design software, specifically Revit MEP, is preferred.
