About the role#
The IT Infrastructure Support Intern manages daily operations to keep data and assets accessible, dependable, and secure. You will provide effective support for IT requests and contribute to the department through project coordination and technical assistance. This role requires the ability to work with both technical and non-technical staff across the organization.
What you'll do#
- Assist with small-scale IT infrastructure projects, including scheduling and documentation.
- Support the planning and execution of hardware and software rollouts and system upgrades.
- Track project tasks, update timelines, and report on progress.
- Provide technical guidance and support on first-level support tickets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and minimize operational downtime.
- Configure workstation PCs using Microsoft Autopilot and Intune.
- Document processes and create knowledge base articles for end users.
- Identify security risks and ensure they are handled or escalated appropriately.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a diploma or degree program for Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or an equivalent field.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft solutions, including Windows, Intune, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory.
- Understanding of IT processes such as ticketing systems, change control, and security administration.
- Exposure to project management tools like Microsoft Planner or Jira.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Microsoft certifications are a desirable asset.
- Mandarin Chinese language skills are highly desired.
