About the role#
Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises is hiring a Student Research Assistant to serve as the Chief Engineer for the Bronco Space Lab CADENCE grant. You will work under the supervision of Drs. Andrew Ketsdever and Phyllis Nelson. This is a part-time, on-site position based in Pomona, California.
What you'll do#
- Lead a team of approximately 40 students.
- Develop a cubesat designed to monitor the radiation environment in low earth orbit.
- Conduct research focused on the South Atlantic Anomaly region.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Cal Poly student.
- Experience with cubesat design in a team environment.
- Proficiency with engineering project management tools and software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and high-level administrators.
- Previous experience with the CADENCE project, ideally in a team lead capacity, is preferred.
