About the role#
This internship provides practical experience in performing arts event services. You will learn how events are planned, coordinated, and supported from the initial client inquiry through to event-day execution. You will work directly with the Event Services staff to develop skills in venue management, event staffing, contracts, and administrative support.
What you'll do#
- Prepare, submit, and track event-related work orders including building services.
- Assist with event staffing needs and coordinate safety requirements.
- Gather and document client inquiries for the Event Manager.
- Maintain and report show-related attendance data for departmental records.
- Provide hands-on support during events, including front-of-house operations and catering coordination.
- Learn the process for preparing rental contracts and building ticketing riders.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a degree in Arts Administration, Event Management, Business, or a related field.
- You are a college senior or a graduate who finished your degree within the last year.
- You communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally.
- You possess excellent time and task management skills.
- You can adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Location & details#
- This role is located at the Rose & Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
- The internship runs during the Fall 2026 term, from October through December, for up to 12 weeks.
- This is a part-time, paid position at $15 per hour.
- You will work an average of 20 to 24 hours per week.
- The schedule is flexible and may include nights, weekends, and holidays based on event requirements.
