Student Advising and Program Coordinator

About the role#

The Student Advising and Program Coordinator leads critical advising services and programs for 11th- and 12th-grade students. This role is central to the organization's school-based model, which blends direct student service with capacity-building support for partner high schools to increase postsecondary attainment. You will provide academic and career guidance while managing campus-based programming and supervising staff to ensure students meet key college access milestones.

What you'll do#

• Provide timely, high-quality academic advising and mentoring to an average caseload of 50-55 students.
• Develop and maintain relationships with a diverse group of students, families, teachers, and other key stakeholders to support student success.
• Support students in taking academic and non-academic steps necessary to prepare for postsecondary pathways, including college exploration, testing, application submissions, and financial aid tracking.
• Design, plan, and lead campus-based programming during or after school to promote school success and foster postsecondary education options.
• Supervise, support, develop, and evaluate AmeriCorps fellow(s) to ensure high performance and optimal student outcomes.

What you'll need#

• Expertise in High School Success & College Access Advising.
• Experience with Direct-to-College Enrollment Advising.
• Strong skills in Student Advising & Relationship Building.
• Ability to manage Family Navigation & Caregiver Engagement.
• Proficiency in Program Design and Delivery.
• While not required, relevant academic backgrounds include Psychology, Sociology, Communications, Human Resources, Computer Science, Business Administration, Public Health, or Political Science.
