About the role#
The Student Advising and Program Coordinator leads critical services for 11th and 12th-grade students. You will work within our school-based model to increase postsecondary attainment by blending direct student support with capacity-building for partner schools. This role involves managing a caseload of students while designing programs that foster a college-going culture.
What you'll do#
- Provide academic advising and mentoring to an average caseload of 50-55 students.
- Build and maintain relationships with students, families, teachers, and community stakeholders.
- Guide students through academic and non-academic milestones, including college applications, financial aid, and career exploration.
- Design and lead campus-based programming during or after school hours.
- Supervise, support, and evaluate AmeriCorps fellows to ensure high performance.
- Track student progress and identify needs for timely interventions.
What you'll need#
- Experience in high school success and college access advising.
- Ability to provide direct-to-college enrollment support and remove barriers for graduates.
- Skill in student advising, relationship building, and caregiver engagement.
- Background in program design and delivery for student groups.
- Competency in data tracking, inclusive communication, and talent development.
- A degree in fields such as Psychology, Sociology, Communications, Human Resources, Computer Science, Business Administration, Public Health, or Political Science.
