About the role#
BorgWarner is looking for a year-round Validation Intern to join the Environmental Validation groups at the Kokomo Technical Center. This role supports teams validating ECUs for internal combustion engines as well as components for hybrid and electric vehicles. You will work on-site in a laboratory environment, assisting with setup, maintenance, and operational support.
What you'll do#
- Assist with laboratory setup and test execution, including connecting devices under test, managing coolant lines, and moving equipment racks.
- Build, modify, and verify automotive wiring harnesses ranging from 20AWG to 3/0.
- Construct and maintain electrical load boxes and perform basic troubleshooting on test benches.
- Support Validation Operations Engineers with workflow documentation, asset tracking, and administrative tasks.
- Help troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues within the lab.
- Organize equipment, move materials, and maintain general lab cleanliness.
- Assist with PC builds, software installation, and system monitoring tasks under supervision.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, or recent graduation.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Experience using hand tools or power tools.
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
