About the role#
This student experience provides an opportunity to work within the Product Safety & Compliance team at Bobcat Company. You will gain hands-on experience by supporting the development, review, and maintenance of critical product communication materials. This role involves collaborating across various departments to ensure safety information is accurate and consistent.
What you'll do#
- Support the creation and revision of product manuals, operator handbooks, user guides, installation instructions, decals, safety signs, and safety videos.
- Conduct first-pass quality checks and organize review comments for technical and marketing materials.
- Review product development documentation for accuracy, completeness, and readiness for safety review.
- Assist with safety communication support for new product development projects, including maintaining review status trackers and organizing decision history.
- Review marketing and advertising content such as social media posts, website pages, brochures, and trade-show materials.
- Help manage communication channels including technical service bulletins, recall notices, and dealer-facing content.
- Interface with Marketing, Technical Publications, Engineering, Product Service, Legal, and Product Management teams.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of design verification and testing templates and safety communication records.
- Collect background information from standards, risk assessments, and internal templates for subject matter expert review.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Technical Communication, Technical Writing, Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, Business, Safety/Risk Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical material clearly.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Ability to work independently and within a cross-functional team.
- Interest in product safety, technical documentation, and equipment operation.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, engineering drawings, or compliance documentation is preferred.
