About the role#
This internship supports the IT Operations team at Bob Jones University. You will assist network and system engineers with daily support requests and ongoing infrastructure projects. This is a part-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Audit and standardize network racks across campus.
- Map and document the locations of wireless access points.
- Use diagnostic tools to monitor network and server performance.
- Keep accurate records of system changes and troubleshooting steps.
- Assist engineers with assigned tasks and projects.
What you'll need#
- You must be a currently enrolled student at Bob Jones University.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A willingness to learn new technologies and processes.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is expected.
- Experience with Juniper network switches, Mist wireless access points, or SolarWinds monitoring tools is helpful.
