About the role#
The Risk and Compliance practice at BNY establishes the frameworks, policies, and tools that guide risk management across the firm. This internship offers hands-on experience within a global team, providing independent oversight and monitoring of risk decisions. You will work across various areas including credit, market, liquidity, operational, technology, compliance, model, and enterprise risk. As the firm adopts new technologies, you will help evaluate emerging risks and support responsible AI adoption to promote safe, sustainable growth.
What you'll do#
- Support risk and compliance activities by helping teams apply frameworks, policies, and oversight practices.
- Analyze information to identify trends and assess how risks are managed across different business functions.
- Assist with reviews, reporting, and documentation that support governance, monitoring, and compliance efforts.
- Gain exposure to key risk areas such as credit, market, liquidity, and technology.
- Help teams think critically about AI-related risks, specifically regarding accuracy, explainability, data quality, and privacy.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate degree program with a focus on Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or Data Science.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
- Ability to work without sponsorship for an employment visa.
