About the role#
The BNY Summer Internship Program is a 10-week experience for students interested in Engineering and Production Services. You will work within a global financial services environment, focusing on the maintenance, monitoring, and stability of technology platforms. This internship provides hands-on exposure to IT service management, automation, and operational efficiency within a large-scale enterprise.
What you'll do#
- Support the maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of applications and technology platforms.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to plan and execute work, resolve issues, and support both short-term fixes and long-term improvements.
- Leverage AI and other toolsets to monitor production health, analyze trends, and identify opportunities for efficiency.
- Document procedures, configurations, and support activities to build knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
- Help teams maintain reliable technology platforms and minimize disruption through timely issue resolution.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate degree program, with a preference for Computer Science, Business Administration, Data Science, Finance, Operations Management, Mathematics, Cybersecurity, or Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Expected graduation date in December 2027 or May 2028.
- Knowledge and usage of AI tools such as Windsurf and Claude.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and balance multiple tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation.
- A keen interest in problem-solving, new technology challenges, and industry best practices.
