About the role#
The 2027 BNY Summer Internship Program for Engineering provides students with hands-on experience in software development within the financial services industry. You will work on Agile projects, gain exposure to our business operations, and build technical skills using languages such as JavaScript, Python, CSS, and Java. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Translate client and business needs into technical designs to build features, APIs, and developer tools.
- Use enterprise-approved AI coding tools to assist with development, testing, debugging, and documentation.
- Apply modern engineering practices including source control, code reviews, reusable frameworks, automated testing, and CI/CD.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and product partners to deliver reliable solutions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate degree program, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Administration, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
- Expected graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.
