About the role#
As a Project Engineer Intern at BMWC Constructors, you will work directly with Project Managers and Project Engineers to learn the responsibilities required to complete industrial construction projects. This is a hands-on, 12-week program with the possibility of extension. You will work 40 hours per week, with potential for overtime based on project needs.
What you'll do#
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, contracts, specifications, and regulations.
- Assist with cost estimation, material purchasing, bids, and proposals.
- Manage invoice approvals, quotes, and change orders.
- Conduct labor productivity, safety, and quality audits.
- Handle project controls, including the preparation and management of schedules.
- Support Superintendents and preconstruction staff.
- Research new products, equipment, and vendors.
- Track job progress and develop plans to address delays.
- Report work progress and budget matters to project managers or clients.
- Lead process improvement, cost-cutting, or Lean projects.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- A desire to work in the industrial construction industry as a future field or construction Project Engineer.
- A strong work ethic and responsible attitude.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
