About the role#
This summer internship offers hands-on experience in the logistics industry. You will work directly with our team to manage freight and build professional relationships. This is a performance-based role where you will learn to navigate the transportation market and develop core sales skills.
What you'll do#
- Make 85 cold calls daily to truckload carriers to secure shipping capacity.
- Negotiate rates and book loads to meet shipping requirements.
- Build and manage your own portfolio of carrier relationships.
- Provide service to partner carriers and internal stakeholders.
- Exceed performance metrics including outbound calls, loads moved, and automation targets.
- Resolve service failures and address issues as they arise.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program with an expected graduation date by August 2028.
- Academic focus in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, or Economics.
- Strong work ethic and a self-starting attitude.
- Ability to communicate clearly and negotiate effectively.
- Resilience, persistence, and the ability to solve problems under pressure.
- An entrepreneurial and competitive mindset.
- Previous sales experience is helpful but not required.
