About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 within the Conventional Power Systems group. You will join the team as a Mechanical Engineer intern, focusing on the design of mechanical equipment and systems for advanced power generation projects.
What you'll do#
- Develop, evaluate, and design specifications and contract drawings.
- Prepare basic calculations and assist in equipment selection.
- Analyze systems using computer modeling.
- Support engineering analyses and report production.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to schedule project deliverables.
- Collect, organize, and evaluate project data.
- Manage and file project materials and references.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Mechanical or Chemical Engineering program.
- Strong mathematical, problem-solving, and computer skills.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Coursework in fluids and thermodynamics is preferred.
- A 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- Ability to complete all pre-employment onboarding requirements.

- This position is based on-site in Ann Arbor, Michigan, or Raleigh, North Carolina.
- This is a full-time role for the summer term.
