    About the role#

    We are looking for an Intern to join our AI Systems team. You will design and build agent-based systems that reason, use tools, evaluate outcomes, and improve through feedback. We prioritize candidates with a strong portfolio of projects. While we encourage graduate students to apply, we also welcome undergraduates and self-taught developers who have built significant AI projects.

    What you'll do#

    • Design single-agent and multi-agent systems.
    • Build workflows for tool-use and function-calling.
    • Create feedback loops for agents to evaluate and improve their outputs.
    • Manage agent planning, memory, delegation, and coordination.
    • Build frameworks to evaluate agent performance.
    • Design systems where agents interact with software, data, and other AI models.
    • Develop autonomous workflows that include human review.
    • Improve reliability, observability, and failure recovery in agent systems.
    • Explore approaches to long-running and self-improving AI systems.

    What you'll need#

    • Understanding of modern AI systems and agent design.
    • Ability to think about how multiple components work together.
    • Experience designing agent architectures, workflows, and multi-agent systems.
    • Experience with feedback loops, tool selection, task decomposition, and planning.
    • Experience building systems that operate over multiple steps.
    • Ability to evaluate where and why agents fail.
    • Ability to read current AI research and apply relevant ideas.
    • Ability to build and test ideas independently.
    • A strong portfolio of projects.
