About the role#
We are looking for an Intern AI Systems to help design and build agent-based systems that can reason, use tools, evaluate outcomes, and improve through feedback. We prioritize candidates with a strong portfolio of projects. While we encourage applications from graduate students, undergraduates and self-taught candidates with relevant technical backgrounds are welcome to apply.
What you'll do#
- Design single-agent and multi-agent systems.
- Build tool-use and function-calling workflows.
- Design feedback loops for agents to evaluate and improve their outputs.
- Work on agent planning, memory, delegation, and coordination.
- Build evaluation frameworks for agent performance.
- Design systems where agents interact with software, data, and other AI models.
- Develop autonomous workflows with human review where appropriate.
- Improve reliability, observability, and failure recovery in agent systems.
- Explore approaches to long-running and self-improving AI systems.
What you'll need#
- Understanding of modern AI systems and agent design.
- Experience designing agent architectures and workflows.
- Experience working with multi-agent systems.
- Experience designing feedback and evaluation loops.
- Ability to think about tool selection, planning, and task decomposition.
- Experience building systems that can operate over multiple steps.
- Ability to evaluate where and why agents fail.
- Ability to read current AI research and apply relevant ideas.
- Ability to build and test ideas independently.
- Educational background in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.

- This is a full-time, paid internship based in Mississauga, Ontario.
- The role follows a hybrid work model.
- This position operates on a rolling term.
- Candidates must be able to complete background checks, including references, educational verification, and criminal or credit checks where applicable.
