    About the role#

    We are looking for an intern to work on real-world perception and AI problems. This role focuses on modern approaches, experimentation, and turning ideas into practical systems. We are especially interested in M.A.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. students, though undergraduates and self-taught candidates with strong projects are encouraged to apply.

    What you'll do#

    • Develop modern computer vision and multimodal AI systems.
    • Work on OCR, visual recognition, vision-language models, and AI agents.
    • Design and optimize algorithms.
    • Improve model reliability and confidence estimation.
    • Use simulation and synthetic data.
    • Develop active and self-learning systems.
    • Perform statistical modelling and experimentation.
    • Analyze and improve failure cases in production AI systems.

    What you'll need#

    • A foundation in modern AI, computer vision, algorithms, mathematics, or statistics.
    • Ability to design algorithms and reason through technical problems.
    • Understanding of modern AI architectures and research.
    • Ability to break down open-ended problems into testable ideas.
    • Experience designing and running experiments with real-world datasets.
    • Ability to read research papers and apply relevant ideas.
    • Ability to analyze why AI systems fail and build or test ideas independently.
    • A strong portfolio of projects.

    Location & details#

    • This is a hybrid role based in Dallas, Texas.
    • The position is a paid, full-time internship.
    • Hiring is on a rolling basis.
    • We do not provide sponsorship for this role.
    • Candidates must successfully complete background checks, which may include references, educational verification, criminal history, and credit checks.
