About the role#
The Bezos Earth Fund is looking for a Macroeconomist Intern to support the Green Macroeconomic Modeling Initiative (GMMI). This role involves a mix of administrative coordination and technical research. You will work approximately 20 hours per week for a six-month term. You will report to the Program Manager and Economist.
What you'll do#
- Organize teams around key workstreams designated by the steering committee.
- Coordinate biennial conferences in the spring and fall.
- Schedule meetings across multiple time zones.
- Follow up with teams to ensure data reporting and project timelines remain on track.
- Collect and synthesize asymmetric data from various sources.
- Perform simple data checks to identify errors and maintain the accuracy of the master dataset.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a master’s or PhD program in economics, environmental science, engineering, or public policy.
- Experience managing large projects.
- Prior research and analysis experience.
- An interdisciplinary background and knowledge of climate issues.
- Strong organizational, writing, and interpersonal communication skills.
Location & details#
- This internship is based on-site in Washington D.C.
- Interns are expected to be in the office on Tuesdays or Wednesdays for mentorship and team activities.
- This is a paid position at $35 per hour.
- The term is for Summer 2026.
