About the role#
The Planning Intern position at Bernalillo County provides administrative and clerical support to the Planning and Development Services department. You will receive training and mentorship from experienced staff while working on projects that support department goals. This is a paid, part-time, on-site role based in Albuquerque.
What you'll do#
- Provide general administrative and clerical support for daily operations.
- Communicate with staff, clients, and external contacts to support efficient workflows.
- Conduct basic research and prepare summaries, reports, or recommendations.
- Assist with entry-level tasks aligned with department projects.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of special projects.
- Collaborate with other departments and act as a liaison.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive documents and information.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in an accredited college, university, or technical school.
- A valid New Mexico driver’s license by the date of hire.
- Ability to pass a background investigation and medical examination.
- Ability to complete assigned FEMA training.
