About the role#
This summer internship is designed for FSU students interested in gaining hands-on experience in a behavioral health setting. Interns work within an outpatient environment to provide individual, family, couple, and group therapy. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team while receiving mentorship and clinical supervision.
What you'll do#
- Conduct initial assessments and provide evidence-based psychotherapy and social-emotional skills training.
- Develop collaborative treatment plans and track progress toward client goals.
- Participate in clinical team meetings, supervision sessions, and continuing education.
- Deliver client-centered services across various settings, including in-person, telehealth, and community outreach.
- Implement evidence-based practices under the guidance of professional staff.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student in Psychology, Public Health, or Nursing.
- Demonstrated interest in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or the broader mental health field.
- Proficiency with PC/Windows computers, Microsoft Office programs, and email systems.
- Ability to work on-site in Springfield, Massachusetts, at least 20% of the time.
- Preferred: Experience working with children, adolescents, or adults.
- Preferred: Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and evidence-based treatment techniques.
- Preferred: A team-based and goal-directed approach to client care.
