About the role#
Bee Sweet Citrus, Inc. is hiring a Production Management Intern to support our fresh citrus production lines in Nipomo, California. This role provides hands-on experience through shadowing an experienced production manager. You will rotate through company departments during your first week to learn our processes. The position requires a minimum of 20 hours per week, with an initial three-month term that may be extended based on a 90-day evaluation.
What you'll do#
- Partner with a production manager to maintain high fruit quality.
- Help manage staff, including packers, graders, machine operators, and forklift drivers.
- Enforce company policies, food safety standards, and general safety programs.
- Oversee machinery to ensure efficient operation.
- Present new ideas to leadership to help streamline processes.
- Provide daily reports to upper management and the sales team.
- Identify and resolve operational problems.
- Provide guidance and training to the production team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university or college pursuing an Agriculture Business or related degree.
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of quality control techniques and health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Ability to identify potential issues before they escalate.
- Capacity to apply logic and rational thinking in high-stress situations.
- Ability to follow process protocols and work in a noisy environment.
