About the role#
Bee Sweet Citrus, Inc. is looking for a Production Management Intern to join our team in Fowler, California. This role offers hands-on experience in the management of fresh citrus production lines. You will work alongside an experienced production manager to learn our processes and ensure we continue to deliver high-quality fruit. This position requires at least 20 hours per week and is available on a rolling basis. Internships typically last three months, with the possibility of an extension based on a 90-day evaluation.
What you'll do#
- Partner with an experienced production manager to oversee daily operations.
- Help manage packers, graders, machine operators, and forklift drivers.
- Ensure company policies, food safety programs, and general safety protocols are followed.
- Monitor machinery and equipment to maintain efficiency.
- Communicate with leadership to suggest new ideas and streamline processes.
- Provide day-to-day reporting to the sales team and upper management.
- Identify and resolve problems as they arise while training and guiding the production team.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university or college, specifically studying Agriculture, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Basic computer skills.
- Familiarity with quality control techniques and the distribution of goods.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Ability to identify issues or potential problems early.
- Capacity to think logically and remain rational in high-stress situations.
- Ability to follow strict process protocols and work in a noisy environment.
