About the role#
Beam Therapeutics is looking for a co-op to join our quality control team. This role provides operational, administrative, and laboratory support to our QC organization. You will gain hands-on experience in a GMP-regulated laboratory environment while supporting method lifecycle activities, reagent traceability, and quality systems.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the procurement, tracking, and management of laboratory reagents and materials.
- Support method lifecycle activities, including feasibility runs and troubleshooting of analytical methods and instruments under supervision.
- Organize, document, and archive historical data sets.
- Support quality event documentation such as deviations, CAPA, and change controls.
- Assist in reviewing data generated by other analysts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Learn about key functions in pharmaceutical development and manufacturing, including analytics, stability testing, and quality systems.
- Gain practical experience with analytical methods and techniques used in the biotech industry.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a degree-granting college or university program pursuing a BS or MS in biological sciences, chemistry, or a related field.
- Must maintain student status throughout the duration of the co-op.
- Completed entry-level coursework and laboratory training in biology, chemistry, and biochemistry.
- Knowledge of ICH/USP guidelines is highly desirable.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
