About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on-site in New York City, supporting our Financial Services Tax team. You will prepare returns and extensions while working under the guidance of experienced tax professionals. This role offers a hands-on view of our firm practices and the chance to build professional relationships.
What you'll do#
- Ensure clients comply with applicable tax authorities and filing requirements.
- Organize files and complete workpapers to minimize rework for reviewers.
- Assist with responses to notices from the Internal Revenue Service.
- Perform quarterly estimates and prepare tax extensions.
- Assist with the projection of year-end filings and components of income tax provisions.
- Develop and implement methods to help maximize client benefits and decrease their tax burdens.
- Monitor tax laws and client developments to keep the service team informed.
- Use tax software to complete simple tax returns.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or a related field.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions.
- A masters degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
- Prior leadership experience is preferred.
