About the role#
As a Summer Hospitality Intern at Big Cedar Lodge, you will gain hands-on experience in a guest-facing department. You will learn the hospitality industry from professionals while helping create memorable experiences for our guests. Placements include areas such as Marinas, Activities, Recreation, Cedar Creek Spa, Fun Mountain, Safety and Security, Finance and Accounting, or Marketing. This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Participate in weekly hospitality training courses covering topics like finance, marketing, customer service, and procurement.
- Work in your assigned business area while maintaining a safe environment.
- Complete a group project under the guidance of an assigned mentor that may be implemented across the property.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- You must be entering your junior or senior year of college with at least 60 credits completed.
- Preferred fields of study include Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or Sports and Recreation.
- Previous experience working or volunteering with school-age children.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- CPR certification and basic first aid training are preferred.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds.
Location & details#
- The role is based on-site in Ridgedale, Missouri.
- On-site housing is available for a weekly rental fee.
