About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in commodity risk within the utility industry. You will work at our headquarters in Bismarck, North Dakota, during the summer of 2027. The role focuses on supporting the Commodity Risk team with daily financial tasks, trade monitoring, and reporting.
What you'll do#
- Review daily cash margin and prepayment requests, confirm details with counterparties, and process payments.
- Monitor the trade capture system for new commodity trades, checking them for accuracy and completeness.
- Review daily price imports and coordinate any necessary corrections.
- Assemble and distribute credit and risk reports.
- Assist in documenting counterparty credit analysis.
- Collaborate with the Commodity Risk team to improve profit and loss monitoring.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Enrollment as a full-time student in a four-year accounting, business, or finance program.
- Completion of at least two years of study or graduation within the past 12 months.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5.
- A transcript is required at the time of application.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well in a team, maintain confidentiality, and follow safety procedures.
- Previous internship or relevant work experience is preferred.

- Term: Summer 2027 (approximately May 17, 2027, through August 20, 2027).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $23.50 per hour.
