About the role#
As a Quantitative Developer Intern on our Markets team, you will work on high-impact problems to support our distributed battery fleet. You will work alongside full-time team members to build and deploy solutions that manage our grid-support performance and profitability.
What you'll do#
- Design and implement sequential decision algorithms for trading energy storage resources in ERCOT.
- Validate physics- and economics-based models in a simulation environment.
- Implement and deploy new algorithms to our production trading stack.
- Quantify long-term financial risk under different operating strategies.
- Identify and assess new products and contract structures.
- Develop software to automate the valuation and execution of trades.
What you'll need#
- Strong problem-solving mindset and a focus on first-principles thinking.
- Expertise in optimization techniques and sequential decision-making algorithms.
- Proficiency in statistics, machine learning, and data-driven decision-making.
- Strong software engineering skills, including test-driven development and CI/CD workflows.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, with the ability to write clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Knowledge of energy markets, energy systems, or wholesale power trading is a plus.
- Experience in commodities, equities, or derivatives trading is helpful.

- The role is full-time and paid.
