About the role#
This internship offers a 12-month opportunity starting in January 2027. You will work within a global energy company to gain hands-on experience in field chemical laboratory support. You will receive mentorship from a dedicated buddy and manager throughout your time with us.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with chemistry professionals and cross-functional teams to provide laboratory support.
- Assist with analytical testing using instrumentation such as ICP, IC, and GC.
- Record experimental data, test results, and observations in notebooks and databases.
- Help troubleshoot laboratory instruments, analytical methods, and test results.
- Manage inventory and maintain laboratory housekeeping.
- Develop an understanding of oilfield chemistry and the use of laboratory data in decision making.
- Apply company HSE and Quality procedures to ensure compliance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters degree program in Chemistry.
- Completion of at least 2 full semesters of wet laboratory course work.
- A GPA of 3.00 or higher on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent.
- Fluency in oral and written English with effective communication skills.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Authorization to work in Canada without company sponsorship.

- Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Duration: 24 weeks, with opportunities in Winter and Summer 2027.
- Employment: Full-time and paid position.
