About the role#
Baird offers business internships for students to gain hands-on experience in the financial industry. These roles provide exposure to professional environments through projects and daily responsibilities. You will work across teams in Risk Management, Corporate Accounting, Finance, and Compliance. These positions are designed to build a foundation for your future career.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research and data analysis to support Risk Management teams.
- Support daily risk monitoring and assist with ongoing risk assessments.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and dashboards for internal and external use.
- Participate in cross-functional projects, special analyses, and process improvement initiatives.
- Compile financial information for reporting purposes.
- Shadow various areas of the Finance department to learn about operations.
- Maintain and document policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Branch Oversight, Surveillance, and Projects teams to monitor sales practices and review branch activity.
- Assist with regulatory inquiries and help align business practices with industry standards.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in business, finance, economics, accounting, criminology, or a related field.
- An anticipated graduation date of May 2028 or later.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and a drive for continuous improvement.
- Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
Location & details#
- The role is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- This is a hybrid position requiring 3-5 days per week in the office and 0-2 days remote.
- The internship term begins in May 2027.
- Summer hours are full-time, between 37.5 and 40 hours per week.
- Some roles may offer part-time work during school semesters at 15-20 hours per week.
- This position is paid.
