About the role#
Baird, Hampton & Brown is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. This full-time, on-site role in Fort Worth offers the chance to work with an established engineering team on various private and public sector projects. You will build technical skills while gaining exposure to the day-to-day work of professional engineers.
What you'll do#
- Design lighting and lighting control systems that meet energy code requirements.
- Layout electrical distribution systems from the utility source to customer panelboards and equipment loads.
- Help prepare cost estimates and project specifications.
- Join engineers on-site to document existing electrical systems and assess how they affect planned renovations.
- Visit construction sites to verify that installations follow contract documents.
- Participate in client meetings to represent the firm.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Completion of 12-18 hours of Electrical Engineering coursework is preferred.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is preferred.
- Experience with Revit, Bluebeam, Autodesk Inventor, AGI-32, or SKM/E-Tap is a plus.
