About the role#
Axpo Group is hiring a Software Developer Intern to join our IT and ETRM System Development team in New York. You will help build and maintain the technology that supports energy trading, including electricity, gas, and renewable energy markets. This is a part-time, on-site role with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
- Develop, extend, and support the Beacon ETRM system, including market data tools, risk monitoring, and confirms processing.
- Maintain and improve interfaces with third-party systems like exchange feeds and regulatory reporting tools.
- Support technology needs for front, middle, and back office operations, such as invoicing, inventory management, and batch processes.
- Assist with deal life-cycling, reconciliation, and data integrity checks.
- Write and maintain unit tests to ensure software quality.
- Collaborate with Trading, Quant, Risk, Operations, Finance, and Legal teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Python or other modern object-oriented programming languages.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across different departments.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving.
- Exposure to commodities or energy trading markets is a plus.
