About the role#
Axcelis is seeking an Engineering Co-op to join our Operations Technology team. You will work within our warehousing and logistics center to support continuous improvement and operational optimization. This position focuses on the intersection of manufacturing logistics, technology, and data-driven decision-making. You will gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while solving real-world challenges alongside our engineering, production, and IT teams.
What you'll do#
- Implement and sustain operations processes to improve logistics, labor, and manufacturing quality.
- Create documentation and train operators on custom applications used to streamline operations.
- Analyze operational data to contribute to process optimization initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve manufacturing challenges.
- Document findings and provide recommendations to improve efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- Interest in manufacturing operations, process improvement, and technology integration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with databases using SQL.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools including Python, PowerBI, and Advanced Excel.
- Understanding of data visualization techniques.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Location & details#
- Location: Beverly, Massachusetts.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 4th to June 25th, 2027).
- Work Modality: On-site, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.
- Compensation: Paid position ($20.42 - $35.70 per hour).
- Note: A $1,000 travel stipend is provided.
