About the role#
As a Manufacturing Test Development Co-op, you will gain hands-on experience designing, developing, and supporting test equipment in a manufacturing environment. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet quality, performance, and reliability standards. This role involves the design, development, and validation of electrical and mechanical test solutions, fixture design, and hardware-level debugging of test systems.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, build, validate, and maintain electrical and mechanical manufacturing test solutions, including automated test equipment and custom test fixtures.
- Leverage manual, subtractive, and additive manufacturing tools to meet fixture design and performance requirements.
- Analyze test data to identify failure modes, root causes, and process variations.
- Perform hardware-level debugging of test systems, including instrumentation and interfaces.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, design, process, and quality engineering teams to meet project requirements.
- Create and maintain detailed test documentation, procedures, and reports.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase test coverage, throughput, and repeatability.
What you'll need#
- Current candidate for a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Familiarity with modeling software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with schematic and PCB design tools like Altium, KiCad, or QElectroTech.
- Familiarity with fabrication tools including calipers, hand tools, and 3D printing.
- Familiarity with measurement tools such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, and data acquisition systems.
- Experience with project management tools such as Gantt charts, Microsoft Project, or Planner.
Location & details#
- Location: Beverly, Massachusetts.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 1st to July 2nd).
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: This is a paid position. A $1,000 travel stipend is provided as a lump sum in the first paycheck.
