About the role#
We are looking for an Inpatient Pharmacy Intern to join our team at Avita Galion Hospital. You will work directly under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to support our pharmacy operations and patient care services. This is a part-time, on-site position with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
- Interpret physician prescriptions and medication orders.
- Prepare and dispense prescribed medications for patient care.
- Review patient profiles to identify potential drug interactions.
- Provide drug information to patients, medical staff, nursing staff, and other personnel.
- Perform clinical interventions, such as making dosage recommendations.
- Administer immunizations.
- Handle technical and clerical tasks including ordering, packaging, distribution, and billing of medications.
- Complete quality assurance functions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited pharmacy program at a college or university.
- A valid Pharmacy Intern license in good standing with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
- Relevant certifications for your stage of education and practice setting, such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, or immunization certification.
