About the role#
This Administrative Fellowship is a one-year experiential learning program. It provides exposure to regional and rural healthcare settings, including acute care hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinic management, and health systems development. The fellow will rotate through various facilities and work closely with administrative councils, the Board of Trustees, and medical staff committees.
What you'll do#
- Attend and participate in administrative staff meetings and hospital-based meetings.
- Establish rapport with the President, CEO, and management council members.
- Coordinate and complete projects based on institutional needs and personal interests.
- Assist in departmental strategic planning and the budget process.
- Attend Medical Staff and Board of Trustees committee meetings.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding data related to patients, physicians, and hospital information.
- Inform leadership of project progress, achievements, and potential challenges.
What you'll need#
- A Master's degree in Health Services, Hospital Administration, Public Health, or Business Administration with a healthcare emphasis.
- Completion of an accredited graduate program.
- No more than 12 months of post-graduation experience at the start of the program.
- Ability to communicate effectively and solve problems in a professional manner.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
- The program runs from July 2027 through June 2028.
- This is a full-time, on-site, paid fellowship.
