About the role#
We are hiring an Underwriting Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. You will work within our underwriting department to gain experience in insurance operations and risk assessment.
What you'll do#
- Learn insurance coverages, contracts, and our company procedures.
- Study company policies, manuals, forms, and endorsements.
- Analyze risk factors, including loss experience and financial conditions.
- Gain a working knowledge of the various sections within the underwriting department.
- Communicate with independent agents and internal staff.
- Participate in educational programs to build your product knowledge.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in college, entering your junior or senior year.
- A major in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
- Ability to organize data, handle multiple tasks, and make independent decisions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Skill in resolving complex issues.
- Ability to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
