About the role#
This is a part-time, paid Summer 2027 internship based on-site in Marion, Indiana. You will work with our underwriting team to gain practical experience in insurance operations and decision-making.
What you'll do#
- Learn insurance coverages, contracts, and company procedures.
- Make underwriting decisions based on your training.
- Review company policies, manuals, forms, and endorsements.
- Analyze risks by looking at loss experience, financial conditions, and physical characteristics.
- Gain a working knowledge of different sections within the underwriting department.
- Communicate with independent agents and other team members.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in college, entering your junior or senior year.
- Majors in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related fields.
- Ability to organize data and manage multiple tasks at once.
- Skill in making decisions independently and resolving complex issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Interest in developing product knowledge through educational programs.
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.
