About the role#
This internship provides an introduction to the insurance industry through hands-on experience in our underwriting department. You will work directly with our team to learn how we evaluate risk and support our independent agents.
What you'll do#
- Learn insurance coverages, contracts, and company procedures.
- Make underwriting decisions based on company policies, manuals, forms, and endorsements.
- Analyze risk factors including loss experience, financial conditions, and physical characteristics.
- Communicate with independent agents and internal staff.
- Gain a working knowledge of the various sections within the underwriting department.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in college, specifically entering your junior or senior year.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize data and manage multiple tasks at once.
- Capacity to make decisions independently and resolve complex issues.
- Interest in expanding your product knowledge through educational programs.

- Location: Montgomery, Alabama.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $18.00 per hour.
- This is a paid position. Applicants must be able to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
