About the role#
Auto-Owners Insurance is seeking motivated students for Kettering Co-op positions in software development, IT security, or predictive modeling. These roles are available for both A and B section students. Please indicate your area of interest on your application.
What you'll do#
Depending on your assigned area, responsibilities include:
- Software Development: Define, develop, test, analyze, and maintain software programs and applications while participating in code and design reviews and brainstorming sessions.
- IT Security: Research, develop, maintain, and support security software tools, investigate security incidents, and participate in security risk assessments to remediate vulnerabilities.
- Predictive Modeling: Use statistical or machine learning techniques to build models that address business needs, monitor model performance, and implement iterative improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- For IT Security roles, a concentration or minor in Cybersecurity is preferred.
- For Predictive Modeling roles, an AI concentration or minor is preferred.
- Outstanding problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Enthusiasm for driving improvement by finding and implementing solutions to new challenges.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery is considered a plus.
- Ability to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

- Locations: Lansing, Michigan, with potential opportunities in Grand Rapids, Michigan based on team placement.
- Modality: On-site.
- Status: Part-time, paid co-op.
