About the role#
Auto-Owners Insurance is hiring a Construction Project Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Lansing, Michigan. You will work within our real estate division to support various facility and construction initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Act as the owner representative for small to medium-scale construction and facilities projects.
- Attend design meetings and review project plans, logistics, and contractor work.
- Coordinate and communicate project updates with design teams, construction contractors, and company management.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as security, facilities, and contract management.
- Assist with additional non-construction tasks within the real estate division as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in college, entering your junior or senior year.
- A major in civil engineering or construction management.
- A general understanding of commercial construction means and methods.
- Ability to read and interpret floor plans.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD.
- Experience with or the ability to learn software such as Procore or PlanGrid.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Pay: $18.00 per hour.
