About the role#
Auto-Owners Insurance is hiring a Claims Representative Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Macon, Georgia. You will gain experience in the insurance industry by working directly with claims investigations and resolutions.
What you'll do#
- Investigate claims by phone, mail, and on-site visits.
- Assemble facts to determine policy coverage and evaluate loss amounts.
- Analyze legal liability to decide whether to pay or deny losses.
- Issue claims payments in an accurate and timely manner.
- Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to build your knowledge.
- Help resolve claims, which may include attending arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
- Assist agents and policyholders with their needs.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in college as an incoming junior or senior.
- Pursuit of a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Criminal Justice.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and interpret data.
- A detail-oriented approach to your work.
- Skill in resolving complex issues and managing multiple assignments at once.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
