About the role#
Auto-Owners Insurance is hiring a Claims Representative Intern for the summer of 2027. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Jackson, Tennessee. You will gain experience in the insurance industry by assisting with the claims process and supporting our team.
What you'll do#
- Investigate claims by phone, mail, and on-site visits.
- Gather facts, determine policy coverage, and evaluate losses.
- Analyze legal liability to pay or deny claims.
- Study insurance policies, forms, and endorsements.
- Ensure all claim payments are accurate and on time.
- Assist with claim resolutions, including attending arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
- Service the needs of agents and policyholders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in college, entering your junior or senior year.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Economics, or Finance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and resolve complex issues.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.
