About the role#
Auto-Owners Insurance is hiring for a Claims Representative Internship for the summer of 2027. This is a paid, part-time position based on-site in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. You will work with our team to help individuals and businesses recover after a loss occurs.
What you'll do#
- Investigate claims by phone, mail, and on-site visits.
- Assemble facts and analyze legal liability to determine policy coverage.
- Evaluate the amount of loss and decide whether to pay or deny claims.
- Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to build your knowledge.
- Process payments to ensure they are accurate and timely.
- Assist agents, policyholders, and other parties.
- Work toward claim resolution, including attending depositions, arbitrations, mediations, or trials as needed.
What you'll need#
- You are currently enrolled in college and entering your junior or senior year.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and interpret data.
- A detail-oriented approach to your work.
- Skill in managing multiple assignments at once.
- Ability to resolve complex issues.

- Pay: $18.00 per hour.
