About the role#
Auto-Owners Insurance is seeking a Claims Representative Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Mesa, Arizona. You will join our team to gain experience in the insurance industry by managing claims and assisting our policyholders and agents.
What you'll do#
- Investigate and assemble facts to determine policy coverage and evaluate the amount of loss.
- Analyze legal liability to pay or deny losses.
- Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to build your technical knowledge.
- Work toward the resolution of claims, which may include attending arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
- Ensure claims payments are issued accurately and on time.
- Handle investigations through phone, mail, and on-site visits.
What you'll need#
- You are currently enrolled in college and entering your junior or senior year.
- You are pursuing a degree in Business Administration.
- You have above-average written and verbal communication skills.
- You can organize and interpret data effectively.
- You have the ability to resolve complex issues and manage multiple assignments at once.
- You must be able to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
