About the role#
This is a paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Birmingham, Alabama. You will work on-site as a Claims Representative intern to help individuals and businesses recover after a loss.
What you'll do#
- Investigate claims and gather facts.
- Determine policy coverage and evaluate the total amount of loss.
- Analyze legal liability to pay or deny claims.
- Study insurance policies, forms, and endorsements.
- Handle investigations through phone calls, mail, and on-site visits.
- Work toward claim resolution, which may include attending arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
- Ensure payments are issued accurately and on time.
- Support the needs of agents and policyholders.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in college as an incoming junior or senior.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and interpret data.
- Skill in handling multiple assignments at once.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to resolve complex issues.
