About the role#
Auto-Owners Insurance is hiring a Claims Representative Intern for the summer of 2027. This is a paid, part-time internship based on-site in Indianapolis, Indiana. You will assist our team in managing insurance claims and supporting our policyholders.
What you'll do#
- Investigate claims by phone, mail, and on-site visits.
- Assemble facts, determine policy coverage, and evaluate loss amounts.
- Analyze legal liability to pay or deny losses.
- Review insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to build your knowledge.
- Work toward claim resolution, which may include attending arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
- Process claim payments accurately and on time.
- Assist agents, policyholders, and other stakeholders with their needs.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in college as an incoming junior or senior.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize data and resolve complex issues.
- Capability to manage multiple assignments at once.
- High attention to detail.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
