About the role#
Auto-Owners Insurance is hiring a Claims Representative Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This part-time role is based on-site in Athens, Georgia. You will gain experience in the insurance industry by managing claims and supporting our policyholders.
What you'll do#
- Investigate claims by gathering facts through phone calls, mail, and on-site visits.
- Determine policy coverage and analyze legal liability.
- Evaluate the amount of loss and issue payments accurately and on time.
- Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to build your technical knowledge.
- Help resolve claims, which may involve attending arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
- Provide service to agents, policyholders, and other stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- You must be currently enrolled in college and entering your junior or senior year.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and interpret data to resolve complex issues.
- Capability to handle multiple assignments at once.
- High attention to detail.
- You must be able to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
