About the role#
Auto-Owners Insurance is hiring a Claims Representative Intern for the summer of 2027. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Columbia, Missouri. You will gain experience in the insurance industry by working directly with claims investigations and resolutions.
What you'll do#
- Investigate claims by phone, mail, and on-site visits to gather facts.
- Determine policy coverage and evaluate the total amount of loss.
- Analyze legal liability to decide on claim outcomes.
- Issue accurate and timely payments to policyholders.
- Study insurance policies, forms, and endorsements to build your industry knowledge.
- Assist with claim resolutions, which may include attending arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in college, entering your junior or senior year.
- A major in Business Administration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and interpret data while handling multiple assignments.
- A detail-oriented approach to resolving complex issues.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
