About the role#
Auto-Owners Insurance is hiring for a paid, full-time Claims Representative Internship for the Summer 2027 term. This on-site position provides hands-on experience in the insurance industry, focusing on the investigation and resolution of claims.
What you'll do#
- Investigate and assemble facts to determine policy coverage.
- Evaluate the amount of loss and analyze legal liability.
- Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to build your technical knowledge.
- Work toward the resolution of claims, which may include attending arbitrations, mediations, or trials.
- Ensure claims payments are issued accurately and on time.
- Service the needs of agents and policyholders through phone, mail, and on-site investigations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in college, entering your junior or senior year.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Economics, or Finance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and interpret data to resolve complex issues.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple assignments at once.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in West Branch, Michigan, or Traverse City, Michigan.
- Pay is $18.00 per hour.
